There are three levels of rules for playing fastball/softball in District One.
- Softball Canada Rule Book – updated every second year. In general these will take precedent over all others.
- Softball BC Rule Book – mostly administrative (leagues, teams etc) but some differences from Softball Canada.
- SVI League Rules – these are for league play only. They are not for tournaments, districts or Provincials.
